THE GARDEN OF ARTS

Since 1955, el Jardín del Arte de Sullivan (the Garden of Arts) has been working harder to promote culture in all different disciplines. Ceramist-Storyteller Patricia Martos, as a member and artist in this space, wanted to start a space for the stories. To start forum she invited some storytellers to participate. From February the 29th, 2004 stories flown every Sunday so the visitors and artists "pulled a chair to have a seat" and listened the stories.
Since then every Sunday storytellers from all around are coordinated to participate in this beautiful place by Ángel del Pilar y Víctor Arjona, and everything happens in See Map Jardín del Arte de Sullivan a place where you can find nature, and art. It is important to say that children are the most important audience in this place. However all kind of adults and adolescents discover their affinity to listen and enjoy like children. Most of the time this is the regular audience in the forum.

Some years had passed. The audience in this space surprisingly continue enjoying the show, the sessions the storytellers and the stories. Some ideas some suggestions from the community and some projects grow and are shared. This forum is and has become so important not only for the national but for the international storytellers. Librarians, schoolteachers, and cultural entrepreneurs come and share with the storytellers and stories. In this forum we have enjoyed voices from all around the world, Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chili, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Spain, USA, France, England, Japan, Poland, Peru, Venezuela, etc.

The audience of the Jardín del Arte feels like the owner of the forum and they even participate if they are in the mood. Children tell stories their parents tell or books they have read. That is why Cuentos Grandes para Calcetines Pequeños © has a phrase:

Everyone has something to tell
